The most important tip for a beginner of Salsa

When the first learning Salsa, it is easy to make a few assumptions on learning of this wonderful dance. Being a little more experienced, I now wish my teacher or someone else had pulled me aside and said, "this is the most important tip for a beginner of Salsa". It this way and you will have no problems learning. So, just in case you were already told that it is, I will.

I'll just give you a little background first. I am a musician and I went simply to learn to dance the way I learned to play the guitar. It is; Learn scales, learning agreements, them as much as possible the practice (unless you're a little lazy or pressed for time) and then play the songs. That should work for dance Salsa. Right?

Bad!

It is not the same thing with the dance. Salsa dancing, on the other hand almost all the dances, is partner and a man is learning to drive and dance. (Women must learn to follow). Added to that, a combination is not just the fingers, but the entire body (with parts usually work independently). Finally, unless you have a partner who taught salsa with you, and you can practice at home, almost all the learning and practice is in public, while a guitar can be played only and can also be played at any time.

Salsa dancing is very different to the learning of the other.

Also, I guarantee you that you are likely to recall all the combinations that you will learn lessons. There are simply too many. On the one hand, they are stylistically your teachers, some will simply feel good for your physical presence. Secondly, only girls in the lesson will be able to follow first, because they know what is going to (and unconsciously, they lead you through their learning strategy). Try these combinations out of the context lesson and you soon realize how difficult it is to reproduce a combination together with a partner who did not have the lesson.

In short, you are never going to remember that all-so beat you on this subject and come up with a good learning strategy.

That said, here are the most important tip for a beginner of salsa.

Start with a very basic combination of your own, say, five or six steps / moves you know you can carry out. For example, front and rear, opened by phase, followed by a body lead Cross, a tour of his right hand for women, a right hand turn for yourself (low hand), a body cross for the Lady and a Cuban turn spin. Someone with that you dance say that you are a beginner and practice leading these really well, concentrating on staying in time (but fun course).

Each lesson, enter one or two new movements you just learn that you have found a way more simple, and add them to your 5 to 6 steps, but do not add another until one is solidly in your directory. If you want to add two per week, you salsa at least 2 times a week - one to learn the combination/move and another night to dance again and again until you know it by heart.

There you have it - the most important tip for a beginner of salsa!

Think.... If you do so in this way, you will add 52 moves in only 6 months, and it is quite impressive by the standards of anyone!

Have fun and watch for my next article for beginners of Salsa in discovering the easy way to remember combinations!
